I did this one in 1981 after service in the province and its been in a file ever since. I thought now it will be time to show it. It was drawn from photographs that appeared in magazines around that time.

Odd one this there was no colours used at the time but the pens then were a bit crap and some of the inks have sucummed to the ravages of time so giving this odd shading effect. The vehicle is a humber nicknamed a pig now long out of service the crew have deployed from the vehicle when stationary as a moving target is easier to hit. Cheers Dave.

Ta, Yeah now i would do this sort of drawing in a different way, as the pens and inks have improved greatly over the years. This one was done from photos allthough others i did were drawn later using sketches made on rough paper or fag packets, anything that was kicking about the landrover really. Its a tecnique i still use if i see something interesting, i also carry a small camera on my travels,as stated before some of my pictures are totally imaginary and some capture a moment in time. This picture had been put away with a load of paperwork/photos, its not really the sort of thing to hang on the wall but im glad you found it interesting. Best wishes Dave 521.

oh yes` such a beautiful Peaceful scene ... lol :)

I think you have captured the true feelings of the place in such a simple way, you can see the worry on the troops faces and you can feel the real Hate
written across the walls of the buildings :(, it is such a shame that the local people can not see such things ! .. rather than killing each other over such stupid things` like they do.
